Major religions packet highlighting

Today in class we went over more about the religions. For example Islam is the predominant religion of Central Asia and of southwest Asia and North America. Buddhism is clustered primarily in East Asia and southeast asia. The word Islam in Arabic means "submission to the will of God" and it has a similar root to the Arabic word for "peace".  The countries with the most Muslims are Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. Two principal branches: Sunni and Shiite. The word sunni comes from the Arabic for "people following the tradition of Muhammad". Shiite Islam is divided into three principal schools of thought, based in part on disputes over leadership after the prophet Muhammad. In Europe Muslims account for 5% of the population. France had the largest Muslim population, about 4 million, a legacy of immigration from predominantly Muslim former colonies in North Africa  about 2 million Muslims. An accurate count of buddhist is especially difficult because only a few people participate in Buddhist institution. 97% of Hindus are concentrated in just one country (India), two percent are in Nepal, 1 percent are in just Bangladesh, and small number elsewhere. Judaism is the first recorded religion to espouse monotheism. Fundamental to Judaism is belief in one all-power God. Judaism offered a sharp contrast to the polytheism practiced by neighboring people, who worshipped a collection go gods. These are the main highlighted points in the text we have been going over.
