Christianity also known as christians is the largest religion in the world with 2.2 billion adherents. The holy book they follow wis the Bible. The person who had founded christianity was Jesus Christ which they believe that Jesus is both Human and Divine which means son of God. The clergy is the Pope who is head of the catholic church, priests are local authorities. Main locations to find christians is Europe, America, South Africa. They also have denominations which is the catholic church, Eastern orthodox church.
Islam called Muslims would be the second largest religion practiced in the world with 1.5 adherents. The Holy book followed is called Qur'an (Koran). The founder of this religion is Muhammed who lived about (570-632). The clergy is imam who basically leads the prayers in the mosque. Geographic locations are Indonesia and Middle East. The Muslims denominations are Sunnis (75-90%) Shiites (10-20%). The strong beliefs they have are Monotheistic, Abrahamic, and Five pillars. They see their purpose in life as surfing and submitting to Allah (God), and observing Islamic law.
Hinduism also know as Hindus is the third biggest religion practiced with 1.1 billion adherents. The holy book they follow is called The Vedas which isn't written down on books and given out it is sung and the way you learn is by previous generations which is also why it is the hardest to follow. There is no distinct founder which allows it to have series of points of views. They also do not have a clergy. Geographic locations is mainly India, and Nepal.
Fourth we have the Buddhism also called Buddhists with 500 mill. - 1.5 billion adherents numbers vary. They do not have a holy book, Clergy or Specific beliefs. Geographic locations would be South East Asia, China, and Nepal. Denominations are Zen and Amidst with many more. Founder of this religion is Siddhartha Gautama. The main beliefs is that they can believe in more than one God.
Lastly Judaism also called Jews with 14-18 million adherents making this the ninth biggest religion practiced. The holy book is called the Torah. Main locations Israel and US. The founder is Abraham beliefs are ethical monotheism- God is one action of humankind. 10 commandments and 13 principles are other strong beliefs they have.
