Today was our first day back to school after a long break. We had talked about the five main religions and what the main point of them is. The main religion is christianity the are called christians. The number of adherents are about 2.2 billion ( largest ing the world). Geographic location Europe, America, Southern Africa. Denominations are Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Church. The founder of christianity is Jesus Christ and the holy book they follow is the Bible. They believe that Jesus is both human and divine( son of god) . Lastly the clergy is the pope is head of Catholic Church,  priest are local authorities. Second we learned about Islam and the number if adherents are 1.5 billion ( second largest ). They are called muslims and the geographic location is Indonesia, Middle East. Denomination is sunnis and shiites. The founder of these people are Muhammed ( born in 570- 632 ). The holy book that they follow Qur'an and Koran. The beliefs are monotheistic, Abrahamic, Five pillars, Muslims see their purpose in life as serving and submitting to Allah (God), and observing islamic law. We are learning the main points of each religion and the top things because if we learned about every religion and every thing about each one we wouldn't have time. Their are so many religions it is over hundreds and to many things that go along with that which is why we are learning about the top main religions.
