Five major religions day 2 !

Today in class we went over more about the religions and finished what we had been learning. We had went over Hinduism and all of the beliefs they had. They were called Hindus and had about 1.1 billion adherents which is the third biggest. They had a geographic location of India and Nepal. One cool fact I had learned was they have no distinct founder. The holy book they follow is the Vedas. This is one of the hardest to understand because this holy book is ti be sung and they don't send out copies or handouts so generations before you would have to teach you parts of it. This is also one of the oldest religions around. Next we have learned about Buddhism and the number of adherents they have are 500 million to 1.5 billion. The reason the I can vary so much is because in this religion you are aloud to believe in more than one god for example a christian can be a Christian and believe in buddhism as well. Geographic location would be Southern East Asia, china, and Nepal. The denominations are Tibetan, Zen, Amidst, and Thedas. founder is Siddhartha Gautama. In this you are aloud to believe in more than one god. They also believe in Eight fold path and 4 Nobel truths. Lastly we have Judaism and the number of adherents they have are about 14-18 million. Part of the reason they don't have as much as the rest do is because of the holocaust and how many they killed. They wanted the entire jew population destroyed. Also in Judaism people are called Jews. Some main graphic locations for Them are Israel, and the united states. Founder is Abraham and holy book is called the Torah which is also basically the first 5 books in the new testament. Beliefs that they have are ethical monotheism- God is one actions of humankind, ten commandments and 13 principles of faith.

8. Right dedication

Four Noble Truths

3. There is accusation of suffering
4. The Eightfold path will lead to the cessation of suffering
