cartographers video on maps !

The points described in the cartographers I believe they are strong valid points. Watching this video they are trying to show us that changing the map would make it more understandable because not everything is the same now as it was in 1569. By changing the map it will show the actual struggles of how it is to travel to that place because for instance on the map Greenland appears to be the same size as Africa. This is wrong Africa is actually 14x larger than Greenland. Another point they made is that "nothing is where you think it is" this is a great answer because its honestly not all the maps have different pictures until they flipped the map among it upside down. A great quote that had been brought up was from the social studies argued that "we unconsciously equate size with importance and even power". I do believe this could be true a specially about the whole thing where they said about power. Without realizing or being aware of ones actions is the definition for unconsciously which helps us better understand what the sentence is trying to say. For example we take the size of Africa and make It seem like it is the same size as Greenland when really its not. Today we also have better technology to give us specific measurements and lengths of things so keeping a map that its wrong for another few years could mess things up for us in a long run.  I really do agree with the points they are trying to make in this video. Changing the Maputo latest version and telling us where things are is a good idea. Flipping the map and showing us another way to look at things can help us better understand where and how we live. It gives us another point of view on maps and the look on life. I believe this is a great way to get your point across and on what your trying to do.
